Hello Martin, I don't recall noticing any of the symptoms you mention.
I'm sorry that I can't be of further help, as the system I ran Lucid on
is not in my care anymore.

Did you notice that the power related functionality wasn't working at
that time? I. e. things like no battery status, computer did not react
to plugging in/pulling out AC, etc.? To ensure that upowerd isn't
crashing generally for you, can you please copy&paste the output of
ps aux|grep upowerd
