Opening a second bug report for the same issue (due to identical
hardware) makes no sense to me. I can't test Ubuntu 12.04 on this
machine, because I do not have any access to this machine any more.

In my opinion they are the same bug: same problem, same laptop and same
docking station (since there's only one with the advertised features).
But you are the one dealing with the bugs, so I'll do as you prefer. On

Hi,
I did a clean installation of 12.04 a few days ago on my T400. When the
BIOS is on "Switchable graphics" mode, the intel chip only recognized
the VGA output. Switching to "Discrete graphics" solves this problem,
as the ATI is then running (to dismay of my battery life).

Benjamin Drung, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD
images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .
