Can your remember what you entered in debconf questions ?
The suffix you have "dc=example,dc=local,dc=" is not a valid suffix.
That is the reason why the error occured. It would be nice to know what
you have entered in debconf. I tried with a final space, but I can not
reproduce what you had.

and tried again. I tried, both as a static assigned IP and DHCP, the
DHCP DNS auto-host-assign of collaborative.local so the only question
asked was for the admin password, and the static IP I was prompted for
dc values, I entere
