You can turn off deprecation warnings in 5.3. Please file a request on
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you need help with that. If
there are specific issues with the Lucid version that prevent it from
working, please file other bugs.

I agree with Srinath. Although it can be seen as a bug, not just a wish,
since Mantis is
!!not fully compatible!!
with the php version (5.3) that ships with Lucid. While PHP got an
upgrade (from 5.2.10), Mantis stayed at 1.1.8.
So, right now, you either have to downgrade php, or build Mantis fro
