request for exception should have a rational which this bug lacks,
somebody needs to explain the differences between the gnote 0.6 and 0.7
series. Did anybody get in touch with upstream asking which one should
be used now?

I don't have any objections if you wish to package 0.6.4 for Ubuntu. Both 0.6.4
and 0.7.2 have similar bugs fixes applied, which would satify most of users. :)
I would vote for 0.7 since that's the one I have tried out. Probably another 10
users (that I know of) have tested the 0.7 series from th
the current lucid serie is 0.6 and still get updates, is 0.7 a stable
serie? could you try to give arguments on why we should update?

0.7.1 already exists in Debian testing, it would be great if the Ubuntu
repository can be updated to include it. :)
There's a 0.7.2 version upstream, but no time to test it unfortunately.
