Apparently Lucid currently has 2.1 (where the problem still persists)
since one of the dependencies hasn't been updated yet. I guess we could

In comment #1, I meant to say parted-2.2 (not 2.0). Hence if Lucid has
libparted 2.2, then both parted and gparted will properly set the MSDOS
partition table type code for HFS/HFS+ file systems.

This problem has been fixed in the upstream parted project source code
repository.
The relevant git commit can be found at the following link:
