I have encountered similar issues when compiling the boost libraries
(1.42). Both gcc-4.4 and gcc-4.3 have similar behaviours, crashing
during the compilation of some stdlibc++ files:
/usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/istream.tcc:407: internal compiler error:
Segmentation fault

please recheck in current lucid, and attach the preprocessed source

My last post (that it works in trunk) is false.
An error also occurs, but note it is in a different place in compilation, and
so more likely a different error.
./src/stc/scintilla/src/Partitioning.h:87:2: warning: inlining failed in call
to ‘Partitioning::~Partitioning(SplitVectorWithRangeAdd**)
I compiled and tested with GCC subversion trunk. It worked without
problem, so the error is either fixed upstream or only in the Ubuntu
version.
Using
export CXXFLAGS='-pipe -Winline --visibility-inlines-hidden
--no-implement-inlines --single-precision-constant --trapv
--non-call-exceptions -O3
I have ascertained that CXXFLAGS are needed to cause the bug to occur. More
details on which flags are needed forthcoming.
Here is the end of the compilation.
./include/wx/event.h:2816: warning: inlining failed in call to
‘wxEventTableEntry::wxEventTableEntry(const int&, int, int, wxEventFuncto
