Thanks, removing the session files made the trick, and maximus is not started
anymore under the gnome session.
I used to always use the saving session feature, but I suppose that I can left
it alone while it becomes stable again.

Yes, but gnome-session doesn't handle that in multiple session. We'll
try to fix those kind of thing and have better session handling directly
with upstream, but this will be in +1.

How could I stop it? If I kill it, it respawns again automatically.
Then, I'm not sure about maximus being saved in the gnome session. It should be
