No, you don't need to open any additional ports.
Ubuntu One clients connect only via port 443 (HTTPS, though the protocol
syncdaemon is using on port 443 is not HTTP).
Could you please attach the syncdaemon log file from
~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon.log if you are able to reproduce the
issue
