The stack trace indicates that gtksourceview might not be happy with it:

It's a tellico generated web page so perhaps the html structure is
horrible (183,000 characters on line 94)...but Nvu handle easily this
page !

I can confirm this, but can you please not confirm your own bugs in
future?
This issue is caused by line 94 being... well, about 183,000 characters.
The hanging is caused by it trying to break the line, and it'll
obviously take a while to do that. Turning off word-wrap means it
doesn't display pro
I don't know what the reason is but the file specified sure freezes
gedit. The file is handled properly by 'less'.
