A couple of times a day X crashes and restarts on my up-to-date Ubuntu
10.04 Lucid installation. In kern.log and dmesg, I get the following
rows after each crash;
[18454.354930] [drm:i915_gem_execbuffer] *ERROR*
The 2.6.32-16 kernel *is* the kernel from the PPA; if that crashed, then
it seems that you were just lucky while testing the PPA packages.
To debug further, it would be useful if you could do the following:
- Install the latest drm-intel-next mainline kernel from [1] (instructions for

After re-installing the kernel from the PPA i still get X crashes. Two
today.
Should I try installing a 2.6.33 kernel instead?

I installed the PPA and didn't had a single crash - until I tested
upgrading to the new Lucid kernel: Linux Pisces 2.6.32-16-generic
#24-Ubuntu SMP Sat Mar 6 12:32:35 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux.
It took X 35 minutes to crash :).
So I think we safely can assume that my bug is fixed in the newer
ker

this one) have been fixed in the newer DRM code from the 2.6.33 kernel.
