Thanks for the quick response. I'm actually the submitter of the
upstream bug. I created this one to track it and for any other Kubuntu
users to see if they are experiencing the same issue. Is there a
procedure for adding upstream tracking bugs to launchpad?

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE
program itself, and not with our KDE packages. But don't worry! This issue is
being tracked by the KDE developers at:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=228565
Once fixed in KDE, it will be included in Kubuntu
I am running Kubuntu 10.04 32-bit, fully updated.
