not the drivers themselves, ergo nvidia does not need to know about this

hardware driver but visual effects Extra or normal are not working. Over and
above, the NVIDIA has released 96.43.16.. on installing it gives the "the
distribution-provided pre-install script error".

Just to amend that last comment: The message about hibernation concerned
the failure of a "prior hibernation even".

While upgrading to 10.004 on my own system, my experience was similar to
kwbauson's. However, my system was not able to recover. Rebooting
resulted in the blinking cursor of death.
However (an additional consideration), my HP ZD7000 was also never able
to suspend or hibernate in 9.10 (though it wa
