I had this happen when launching Gwibber from the new Me Menu on Lucid.
Gwibber also died at the same time with "gwibber-service crashed with
DBusException in call_blocking()" which appears here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gwibber/+bug/519557
And I'm guessing they're related.
