Don't think its even possible to fix it if we revert the changes.
Because python 2.5 isn't even supported anymore by python-support

This is one of the bugs introduced by the changes in bug #512079, whose
uploader didn't bother to do any testing, resulting in an uninstallable
sabnzbdplus package on lucid. Please complain there, I don't have time
to fix other peoples mess right now.
