Actually I also tried to run SocialCalc on ubuntu 9.10. But when I tried to
installed the xpcom package for this purpose then (since 9.10 has
python-2.6) it says that this package has unresolvable dependency on
python2.5. Since xpcom package will run only on python2.5. S

Thanks for you bug report. I have been 'testing' SocialCalc by watching
my nieces and their friends use it on XOs.
The bad news is that we currently don't have the developer time to
maintain 8.10 while developing 9.04.

Hello, we are currently not supporting 8.10 packages because lack of
resources , all the development is focused on 9.10
