Tested 2.6.32-23-generic from lucid-proposed. It works as desired, using
the cell modem currently to post this.

Initial review shows that the device is detected by Network Manager. It
appears to work with a deactivated account (I can connect and ping the
DNS server that I am assigned).

I recieved a Verizon Wireless Daypass today, and was able to
successfully connect using the ev2210 Sierra MC5725 with Network Manager
with the patched sierra module.
