As much as I love bastard mode, I don't think its right to have swearing in an
app thats included as standard with Ubuntu and is also likely to be used by
children.
'Unfair Mode' would serve the purpose perfectly and not risk upsetting anyone.

My concern is that Ubuntu is trying to aim themselves at the home
market, when you have families using Ubuntu and see Bastard mode in a
game, which children maybe playing, it does not look good at all.

The main problem with Bastard mode isn't political correctness, it's
translations. Bastard Mode is very hard to translate, it carries meaning
fairly well in English but is hard to get right in some other languages.
The user might also not fully understand what the impact of this option

I know string changes are difficult, but given the complete lack of
movement upstream on this, perhaps it would be worth targeting this to
10.04.1? It's a pretty embarrassing issue, especially given that the
games selection has been trimmed down, drawing considerably more
attention to Quadrapassel.
Could rename this option to "Computer cheats" - in fact I've already
apt-get source'd gnome-games and done exactly that.
