This is not a problem of xorg drivers but rather of the kernel. The
options i8042.nomux i8042.noloop and i8042.reset must be passed on to
the kernel at boot time in order for the touchpad to work. The long term
solution for the developers is to patch the i8042 sources in order to
turn those options
