Print Request Causes a Freeze

Very Interesting. I have a similar set-up with two networked printers.
Although I had not changed routers I had added a wireless access
point. However, since reporting thus bug I have upgraded to Karmic
(which eliminated the problem) so can not confirm if a bug with CUPS
and networked printers was
I found out the problem.
Two weeks ago I changed router.
The old one uses 10.0.0.x LN IPs, the new one 192.168.1.x IPs.
I have two printer, one of them is configured through IPP.
Freezes happened when it tried to contact that printer (but PC had a new
IP number).
I fixed it removing old printer
I confirm the same problem using evince and okular.
I also converted pdf file to djvu format using pdf2djvu, opened with djview4
and freezes appear when clicking on File->Print.. as well.
It seems to be a bug in the underlying printing structure, rather than
application specific.
No way to print
Further to my last report, I have found the exact same behaviour in the
PDF document reader, Evince. There was no debug symbol library for gedit
but there was one for evince so installed it and rand the trace
(attached).
Note that I also tried running both programs with sudo and was able to
succes
