Facebook now supports chat via XMPP (aka Jabber), which is a native
plugin to Kopete. Due to this change of circumstances kopete-facebook
was recently removed from the archives in favor of the present solution.
It is currently not planed to deploy further updates to the version used
in Kubuntu karm

Update: users that contact me on facebook were added to the user list
group "Not in your contact list" of kopete, with their user id of
facebook shown. After a restart of kopete, they are deleted from that
list.

As I reported in the comment #1 of bug #428024, it happens also to me, even if
some contacts were added, but their status remains always offline (for more
details see the comment I said before).
Moreover I get sometime a notification "you have been disconnected" too.

Further update: Somebody suggested it may be due to a privacy prompt on
the facebook page I need to complete. I completed one a few weeks ago,
and logging in to facebook in chromium shows no new prompts.

Update: After a few minutes I get a notification 'you have been
disconnected' (from my facebook account). However, the account still
shows as 'online' in kopete.
