Jerry - I'm closing this bug now. If your having a problem with the kernel,
please double check there isn't already a bug been reported or file your own
bug. I'm running Lucid and don't seem to be having these problems your talking
about.

Neil, thanks for looking. No, the problem didn't reproduce after the
fresh install and aptitude update. Shares-admin works now so the
problem can be closed as written however that's done.
Unfortunately the 2.6.32-7 kernel is pretty unstable with the desktop
locking up when I try to write this co

Neil, thanks for looking at this bug. Unfortunately I tried sudo
aptitude update and sudo aptitude safe-upgrade and now gdm desktop won't
display. I'm starting a re-install. I've been running earlier lucid
right along, and it's dual booted with karmic which works.

Ubuntu better. Please can you provide the following outputs;
* dpkg-query -W -f='${Package} ${Version} ${Source} ${Status}\n' | grep samba
* shares-admin --gtk-debug
This will help us to find and resolve the problem.

on shares-admin. Do note the Alpha 1 is dated Dec 9.
