I use nautilus for connecting remote ssh servers. If i use connect to
server from menu it all works ok. same thing from "places" sidebar
above vertical line.
Nautilus crashes if i directly click bookmarked folder _below_ vertical
line. But if i first mount server clicking its name above vertical l
No, it's not network issues. If I create a 'Connect to Server' bookmark
on my desktop for the remote account, it seems to work fine. If I create
a 'Places' bookmark, remove the 'Connect to Server' bookmark. log out
and log in again, then try to access the Places bookmark, it freezes.
Here is the o
The "unmount" option is misleading, there is already a bug upstream.
Basically they use the same menu actions than for a CD drive (by
example). Your shares are not automatically mounted, the "unmount" is
rather a "stop listing that server bookmark", it's just to drop the icon

Although it says 'Unmount', they're not really mounted, it's just an
icon on your desktop for quick access. Quite misleading...

Another thing (perhaps this should be a separate bug)... when I have
remote volume icons on my desktop for these SSH folders they remain
after log outs and restarts, and have an 'unmount' option. Is nautilus
automatically opening SSH connections and mounting these volumes when I
log in?
How come i
Nope, I've managed to produce the freeze again. Made 'Places' bookmarks
to my 3 remote SSH folders, unmounted all 3 volumes in 'Network
Servers', logged out and logged in again, tried to open one of the
remote bookmarks, nautilus freezes.
I then accessed the remote folder by going to 'Connect to S
This is really weird, my 'Network Servers' bookmark to my SSH remote
account is now working fine with nautilus. Just 5 mins. ago the same
folder was causing nautilus to freeze as it had been since I upgraded to
dapper. There are two things that I did that I imagine could possibly be
related between
I don't have any WebDAV or SMB shares. I tried accessing another remote
account in nautilus over private FTP, and that works fine (the same
account hangs using SSH).
Remote editing with Gedit is fine, using the same remote account and
over SSH (it's a pretty cool new feature too).

Thanks for the report. Does the hang also occur if you use other Gnome-
VFS types (WebDAV, SMB, etc.), or if you access files from the remote
location using gedit, for example?
