I just installed Lucid with evolution 2.28.3. It seems to work without
any problems. I will come back to you if there is anything unexpected.

The apport should be working, as it helped me to report bugs before,
even this one I could report once before, but at the moment evolution
only crashes immediately WITHOUT apport window opening.
I have a Ubuntu 09.10 with Gnome desktop environment, but there is NO
file in the /var/crash directory.
