Under Ubuntu 10.4 Lucid Lynx alpha:
As of now the cups program is working again,
as are the printer servers.
Unfortunately, I could not find the root cause
of the printing bug.
It seems, that Lucid upgrade files brought
the problem, and newer upgrades fixed it.
