This looks like a too-lax dependency from glib against libc6. It's
pretty old I'm not sure there's anything useful to find here.

My computer, (i386, original install of jaunty, then upgraded to karmic,
now with latest kernel updates) just developed a similar problem after
attempting to update all application pkgs in synaptic.
Synaptic completed most but not all the application upgrades even after
repeating the exercise seve
