This happened again without the emulator running, so it is not the
cause. Only the original NetworkManager crash is relevant to this bug
report - all the other comments I added should have been added to

NetworkManager crashed with SIGSEGV in g_
Happened again with same symptoms - this time with 2 emulators running,
so the last part of /var/log/syslog is

I'm not sure these last 2 "apport-collect data" were the same problem
since there was no NetworkManager core. All I know these are the same
types of problems I've seen since upgrading to Ubuntu 9.10 where the
GNOME display manager (I guess gdm-simple-slave) just goes away and I
need to log in agai
