Had the same problem on Quantal Quetzal (beta, x86_64).
DRI modules would not load. In my case it was r600_dri.so
I found the modules in: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri
That directory is not on the path searched by libgl when it tries to load the
modules. I solved it by symlinking:
ln -s /usr

I'm not sure what you mean with 'both drivers isntalled'. It's failing
on r300_dri.so for me. I can't load the fglrx driver, i'll get a blank
screen after login. Hitting ctrl-alt-backspace shows me my background

The error described in this bug happens now with hardy, if you have the
ati and fglrx drivers both installed. But it's invalid anyway due to it
being an ATI issue.
