Running: x86_64 dapper, with the latest nvidia driver (9746).
Xorg consistently consumes memory at the rate of about 300MB per day. My
current uptime is a little less than 7 days, and xorg is currently
sitting at 2.2GB.
I use this machine a lot (~10 hours per day, for work; this is my main
deskto
after 48h of not so intensive use (web, email...)

Agreed, this is really far from ideal.
Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to debug this issue without
additional information. Please attach the following information to this
bug report:
- /etc/X11/xorg.conf
- /var/log/Xorg.0.log
- output of "ps auwwwx", when your X process is already using
