Ubuntu Netbook Remix (9.10) fails to connect to Ubuntu One
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/455544 provided a fix that worked for me:
deleting ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf and restarting.
Hopefully this issue sees a proper ( more newbie-friendly ;) ) solution soon
