Saulo, please try installing the 'linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-
generic' package and reboot. After reboot, do double-check your audio
mixer settings to make sure all output devices are unmuted as they may
become muted in the process.
If that doesn't work, try un-installing sl-modem-daemon
