Hi! I just try with a .iso image in mode live CD from an USB.
Firefox had this bug.
I updated with latest PPA translations in Karmic and Firefox can open sites
with security certificates :)
I think this bug is fixed!

Hi! Well, I updated with the lastest PPA translations in Karmic, and all works
fine... but I did more tests, then I can't confirm.

How can I purge and reinstall all packages for firefox? I want testing in a
clean situation.

Arne fixed the bug in stable releases as well. Could you try the latest
PPA translations in Karmic and tell us if they fix this for you?
If they do, we'll then release them as karmic-proposed, if not, we might
have to wait for the next automatic build of Karmic language pac
