I have seen this same problem on 9.04 on my Lenovo x300. It did not
happen originally, but occurred at some point after an update i assume.
Initially I had problems where if I unplugged, the system froze and then
it just started shutting off. I tried rebuilding a newer kernel and that
did not help.

just mentioned that the same thing happens when I start in akku mode,
and plug in the power plug.
