My ThinkPad T500 (which uses the Intel 5350 wireless card, which
includes WiMAX) suffered from this (able to resume from suspend only
once) in Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx). Testing with the Ubuntu 10.10
(Maverick Meerkat) Alpha 2 LiveCD, I was unable to replicate this issue.

Those problem was with WiMax driver. When I used karmic to fix problem I
just remove i2400* files from /lib/firmware
Now I am using lucid. And I had same problems until I removed those
files.
I don't use wimax anyway

I see these same symptoms on Lenovo x301. Sleep mode on intrepid worked
fine. It just broke when I upgraded to Karmic. Sleep mode works with
Karmic on my Dell D630 at work. Is there any more specific info I can
add to this?
