Were you prompted to reboot after upgrade? Have you done so? If you have rebooted and this old kernel is still the one running, were you prompted during the upgrade about whether to keep changes to /boot/grub/menu.lst vs. letting the system overwrite this file? Please attach /boot/grub/menu.lst a

Public bug reported: system/preferences/sound Get stacked on "Waiting for sound system to respond" It seams Karmic Koala does not recognize any sound hardware on my EEEPC. (Hardy was perfect). No sound icone, no access to set sound. How to perform a check of my hardware ? System checking failed.
