I also have this problem. I cannot use any audio recording devices at
all. I have installed the pulseaudio management programs, and made some
progress, but it still won't record.

Sound Recorder not re
Identical problem here. Everything on playback is good, with alsa, oss
or pulse. The problem persist every time I try to record with gnome
audio-recorder or whatever other program. I notice that the Input level
is very low, for not saying 0. If I move Input Volume on max, the input
level get only 3
Seams to be a problem with karmic.
I'm using audacity and I cannot record audio. With jaunty there was no problem.
May be the reason is, to make the UI of the audio settings more simply.
My audio harware: Nvidia MCP55 audio adapter.
Hope that there will be a quick fix. Otherwise I must go back t
