I have the same issue on current (16.04 amd64) installer on latest
stable VirtualBox (5.0.20) on Windows 10 64 Bit (current stable Win10).
Enabling EFI (EFI, Special on OSs only in Machine settings) Virtual Box
and setting up a 8 GB Dynamically Allocated disk triggered the issue.
Please note that

I just installed Kubuntu in a VirtualBox environment, but I can't
reproduce this bug. The display of the partition size of the new Kubuntu
partition seems fine for me (see attachment). Can anyone reproduce this
bug? Unfortunately I don't have vmware installed on my machine.
