It can be solved in a good way (in 9.10 at least) following these steps: 1) Launch systemsettings 2) Go to Advanced Tab 3) File Associations 4) Add a new file association (RDP) 5) Extensión .rdp 6) Aplication: tsclient (usually in /usr/bin) 7) Done and update (and I had to close the session

Confirmed in Hardy (beta) I got a reasonable way into fixing this issue when I was playing with it in Gutsy but I gave up. It is possible to fix, but I don't know enough about editing/creating mime types. A simple fix would be for someone (who knows more about mime types and 'default' programs)
