Updated from 9.04, before it worked fine with HP laptop 2133.Then black screen at boot... with 9.10! Conflict with acpi/ uplash and this has something to do with video card Nvidia.The rest seems fine .It stops at boot/bios I tried envyng to fix the case unsuccessfully. As I did not backed the vid

I also have the same problem, but I have an Nvidia 8400GT on a Sony Vaio. Also, if I do alt+tab I can see the switcher (with the zoom effect) so the desktop seems to be running fine (KDM login also works fine.) -- black screen with cursor after upgrade 9.04 to 9.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bug
