My bug was marked duplicate of this and it really wasn't. My problem is that when you have both a motherboard audio device and a USB one, they initialize in random order and the first one that initializes becomes the default. I wanted a stable initialization order. I don't care which one is default

For some reason the Revolution 5.1 is the default (over Intel HDA) in Gutsy, now. I don't what kind of logic Gutsy uses, but I'm happy. :) I did a clean install and all the settings seem to stay in gnome-sound- properties. I haven't got a .asoundrc.asoundconf file, though. -- Default sound card s
