Closing as invalid. This was caused by referencing a missing font family
in 'custom-set-face' inside my .emacs. (The font used to be present on
the system, but I did not re-install it after a system upgrade.)
Apparently, if custom-face is set inside .emacs, Emacs will disregard
the setting in the c
This got worse in Karmic. Any font I try to set from the command line
(with the -fn option), results in Emacs trying to use a weird serif font
(see new screenshot). Choosing from the 'Options'->'Set default font'
dialog works fine.
