This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it
recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from

I think I found a workaround: Disable the Internet-based clock setting
(under Time and Date, set the Configuration to "Manual"). I have no
idea why this helps, but since I changed the setting a couple of weeks

I confirm the bug as originally reported here, with the exception that I
have not seen it happen without a suspend/resume (which the original
reporter says happens rarely). This is with the latest Karmic as of
December 14, 2009, running on an Intel Atom based ASUS EEE 900A netbook
