I can also confirm this with 2.0.0~bzr467-0ubuntu1 in Karmic. Sometimes
a small bit of an avatar shows until some action is taken, but most
times there is nothing showing for both twitter and identi.ca.

I see the same effect, gwibber 2.0.0 under Ubuntu Karmic x64, no profile
pictures are displayed. Worked fine under Ubuntu Jaunty, gwibber 0.8
