i'm sort of affected. After login I sometimes do not have borders. Most of the time it works OK but I'd say about 1 out of 6 times it fails and I need to log out/log in to get my borders back with compiz. -- compiz is off after login; no window borders https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/453912 You

In my case it had something to do with .local folder in my home. After renaming that folder everything works again. I haven't had time to figure out what exactly in that folder is causing that, but I hope it gives you a glue. -- compiz is off after login; no window borders https://bugs.launchpad.

Alas, i ran jockey (jockey-gtk), but no change. I still get the spinner, and no window borders. (Actually, the message i get when enabling desktop effects for the first time is this: "Searching for available drivers".) The jockey's output was: no proprietary drivers were found on the system. -- c

Try reselecting the driver via jockey. If you have the same problem you should be fine after a reboot. On Thu, Oct 22, 2009 at 10:00 AM, khink wrote: > I withdraw that, the spinner is still there on reboot, it had only > disappeared when i logged out and in again. > > When i enable desktop effect

Just tried it, and it doesn't help. One thing is different: On login, i no longer see the spinner, but a regular mouse pointer. -- compiz is off after login; no window borders https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/453912 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which
