Yes, I am trying to set my friend up with Ubuntu on his Dell laptop with Intel processor. Installed 9.10 OK. Rhythmbox opens his Ipod nano, but doesn't seem to allow access or play the songs. Rhythmbox error window says he needs MPEG-1 LAYER 3 (MP3) decoder. That may be, because it will play a

This problem applies to me as well. gtkpod will not recognize the device, but rhythmbox does - but rhythmbox does not load videos. I'm running Karmic Koala with latest updates. It is on a different machine than this one so I don't have any diagnostic output - but the symptoms are the same as above
