Thanks for testing that. I am interested in knowing if the tests with the
liveCD will move this bug to the VM. Which virtual machine is it in use? I use
VirtualBox here, but without a laptop, my tests are inclusive.

I've tested this on my laptop with a VM that passes the ACPI status of
the Host to the Guest. Even though it's not perfect, I did see a
difference. When I was working with only the adapter attached, it acted
as if it was a PC, not a laptop. That's not a bug or anything, just the
way the ACPI is sen

Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the
development release - Lucid Lynx. It would help us greatly if you could
test with it so we can work
There is a new version, 0.8.4.1. Maybe that one fixes this problem. See
http://goodies.xfce.org/projects/applications/xfce4-power-manager for
the release. But checking the changes, it might not do that.
