Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue
for you. Can you still reproduce this issue? As reinstalling the
packages fixes the
I have completely fresh install of Release Candidate and had the same
problem.
Completely removing packages bcmwl-kernel-source and bcmwl-modaliases
and installing them again fixed... better said worked around the
problem.
This will be very annoying bug if not fixed in the final release :-/

Well, I actually did a search for "broadcom" in synaptic, and then did a
"complete removal" of all packages related to "broadcom" (3 of them) and
rebooted, then re-installed those three packages, and then upgraded the
system using apt-get, and there was ANOTHER 2.6.31-13 kernel upgrade in
addition
Also I'm using an Xubuntu base with the Kubuntu packages installed.

I have the same problem, and the reported fix did not fix it...I try to
activate it and nothing happens after uninstalling the listed file and
rebooting. I am using 2.6.31-13.

I uninstalled bcmwl-kernel-source (searched synaptic for "broadcom") and
then rebooted, and then installed "bcmwl-kernel-source" and the wireless
is working now. Also, linux-2.6.31-13 was updated today, so that may
have helped. Jockey now reports the broadcom wireless driver in use
correctly. pl
downgrading to kernel 2.6.31-11 doesn't fix the problem...
