Internal Microphone still didn't work when tested by Systems Test
(checkbox) on my Asus A2H (A2500H) on Ubuntu 9.10 Final when tested both
Live & as installed by Wubi.exe on my Windows XP SP3 partition. Note I
am not sure I have an internal microphone, although the ststem test
module appears to wo
Have run the test again on Ubuntu 9.10 RC after installing with Wubi.exe
on Windows XP partition, with same result. Note that I am not sure that
i have an internal microphone, also that System Test module might be
defective. :-(

Note that I just updated the bug about an hour so ago after testing with
Ubuntu 9.10 RC to report that I am still having problems with both the
internal microphone (if I have one) as well as an external microphone on
an Asus A2H (or A2500H) laptop!
Something must be wrong SOMEWHERE if the Relea
still not working for me after 2.6.31-14 and with linux-backports-
modules-alsa-karmic installed...

Please update to RC (or current, rather). Note that your kernel is
considered outdated for Karmic, which is at 2.6.31-14.48. Also note that
you should install linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic after installing
the latest kernel.

I discovered during the sound test two steps hence that the sound was
muted which might have affected the test. Thus to insure accuracy, the
speaker tests in the System test Utility should be moved to precede the
microphone tests, and should also test to see if the sound is muted or
sound volume is
