Ok, I understand the point, but it's not the expected behaviour. The best would be to make that distinction. So If I setup the dual head monitor so that the virtual screen resolution is greater than the maximum 3D resolution of the card, it's should notify the user about it at the same time it's as

This is more of a workaround than a bug (so that you can switch to higher resolutions without breaking 3D acceleration). 1) Are you experiencing problems with the virtual resolution set to 2048 x 2048? 2) What graphics card are you using? 3) Can you attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log , please? -- V
