Hello Andrew,
Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with cups and
printing. You made this bug report some time ago and Ubuntu has been updated
since then.
Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we
i enabled the cups error log and then did the apport-collect as instructed. i
hope it is useful.
how do i cups error logging return to regular level (or is that automatically
done when i restart)

Please run the following command on a terminal for some useful printing related
debugging information:
apport-collect -p cups 446246
Can you also your cups error_log with debugging enabled after trying to print
the second file as described here:
